When my parents-in-law announced they were going to renovate their ensuite, I was confused as to why. I thought they had a great bathroom, even though it was getting onto 15 years old. How wrong I was! They wanted to future proof the layout as they got older and taking away the bath and making a huge walk-in shower did that. They also moved the fixed window so light didn’t shine into the bedroom at night. My wife (who is a designer) could not fault anything in the bathroom and was amazed at how beautiful the overall result was – not to mention all the individual fittings and fixtures. Been a tradie myself, I was also impressed how organised my parents-in-law were by ensuring they managed the arrangements with the other residents and body corporate, which made it a very smooth process for all involved. I certainly can see how their investment has not only added huge value to their lifestyle – but also if they ever sell in the future.
